Key Role in Safety Initiatives

The Safety Business Partner plays a pivotal role in leading and influencing safety initiatives, building strong relationships, and supporting the business to drive positive safety outcomes across multiple locations.

This key position involves travel across the region to connect with teams and foster a culture of safety. The primary focus is to lead the implementation of an integrated safety business model, driving critical safety processes, building a proactive and interdependent safety culture, influencing key stakeholders, and championing continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver work health and safety strategy aligned with the business model
  • Coach and support branch and operational leaders across the network to enhance health and safety performance and address incident trends
  • Contribute to enhancing health and safety performance and address incident trends by conducting risk assessments and investigations
  • Lead incident investigations, identify hazards, and conduct thorough risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment
  • Support line leaders in implementing and communicating health and safety policy, standards, programs, and procedures to meet regulatory requirements
  • Ensure safety systems comply with local legislation and regulations
  • Conduct regular audits of business processes associated with inherently high-risk activities to identify areas for improvement
  • Deliver training sessions to introduce new health and safety initiatives and engage employees in safety practices

The ideal candidate should possess a background in manufacturing/operations with a solid understanding of WHS systems, the ability to work independently, and resilience in collaborating with stakeholders to influence a positive culture and engage individuals with safety.

Requirements:
  • Certificate 4, Diploma or Tertiary qualification in Health and Safety
  • Proven experience in WHS within an operational environment with a focus on process improvement
  • Expertise in conducting risk assessments and leading incident investigations to minimize workplace risks
  • Technical knowledge of WHS business model integration to drive safety excellence
  • Strong communication and influencing skills to engage stakeholders and promote safety awareness
  • An innovative and creative approach to safety with a proactive attitude to drive continuous improvement
  • Commitment to safety compliance and adherence to regulatory requirements
