Ocean Career: AIMS Reef Restoration and Adaptation Program Research Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Science Research Technician to join our team at ECO Magazine. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality experimental, laboratory, and data processing support across research projects in the Reef Restoration and Adaptation Program (RRAP).
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Collecting and curating samples from within SeaSim
- Maintaining laboratory books and managing data samples
- Performing QA/QC and laboratory analysis
- Presenting summary of data as requested by project leads
You will collaborate with researchers across broader teams and contribute to the delivery of reports and the production of scientific publications.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in marine science, biology, or ecology. You will also have experience in laboratory processing and managing data from large sample sizes.
You will bring demonstrated experience in the maintenance of experiments and data collection, proficiency in data management programs, and experience working in a large team environment. Good communication skills are essential.
What We OfferWe offer a competitive salary package, including:
- AIMS AOF Level 3 salary ($70,822 to $79,801 per annum) plus 15.4% superannuation
- Full-time, Temporary 6 month (Labor hire) opportunity
- Located in Townsville, Queensland. Commuter car arrangements to site available
- 9-day fortnight
- Flexible Work Arrangements considered (including tele-working where possible)

To be eligible for this role, you must:
- Hold an appropriate Visa with working entitlements that allows paid employment with AIMS from commencement and for the full term of the appointment, depending on the relevant Department of Home Affairs current policies.
