Job Description

This role is a 6-month opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the Retail Banking Services (RBS) Control and Customer Outcomes Team (CCO) at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

RBS is the public face of CommBank, delivering a seamless banking experience for 10 million+ personal and small business customers. We offer market-leading products and services, supported by world-class systems and processes.

The RBS CCO team is focused on supporting RBS to have best-practice management of risks, controls, and conduct to ensure customers receive the right outcomes. Our objectives include implementing an end-to-end product governance framework, driving reviews of all products manufactured and distributed by RBS, and supporting product management conduct risk awareness and customer outcomes uplift activity.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Complete deep dive reviews into products and services focused on conduct risks and customer outcomes.
  2. Support and constructively challenge RBS to focus on conduct risk events and how the design and distribution of products impacts customer outcomes and community expectations.
  3. Work closely with colleagues across Product, Distribution, Compliance, and Customer and Community Advocacy.
  4. Prepare qualified recommendations to senior leaders, clearly and concisely communicating these to drive the conduct agenda and improve products for customers.
  5. Build and foster strong stakeholder relationships across the product and distribution teams to ensure efficient delivery of strategic initiatives.
Requirements
  1. Demonstrated experience and understanding of the Design and Distribution Obligations (RG274) and Banking Code of Practice.
  2. Product management background with knowledge of financial service retail products, including their features, distribution to customers, compliance, and regulatory frameworks in Australia.
  3. Strong reasoning ability, negotiation, and influencing skills across a range of stakeholder groups.
  4. Ability to think critically, analytically, and strategically.
  5. Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with a proven experience in report writing and presentations.
  6. Relevant tertiary degree or diploma in Law, Commerce, or Business (preferred).
