RBS Control and Customer Outcomes Team (CCO) aims to ensure customers receive the best experience and outcomes. We are involved in rolling out Product Governance change initiatives across RBS, balancing customer and business outcomes.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced professional to complete deep dive reviews into products and services focused on conduct risks and customer outcomes. The role supports and challenges RBS to focus on conduct risk events and how product design impacts customer outcomes and community expectations.

You will work closely with colleagues across Product, Distribution, Compliance, and Customer and Community Advocacy teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Timely completion of product reviews, identifying issues and concerns specific to the product under review;
  • Conducting product reviews using various inputs, including data extracts, customer complaints, industry observations, and workshops with stakeholders to examine products, processes, systems, risks, and controls;
  • Working with Product teams to review new products prior to launch and major changes to existing products, ensuring compliance with internal policy and product governance;
  • Preparing qualified recommendations to senior leaders, clearly communicating them to drive the conduct agenda;
  • Fostering strong stakeholder relationships across product and distribution teams;
  • Providing administrative support in managing stakeholder materials, action plans, and timelines;
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of Design and Distribution Obligations (RG274) and Banking Code of Practice;
  • Product management background with knowledge of financial service retail products, their features, distribution, compliance, and regulatory frameworks in Australia, risk frameworks applying to product management;
  • Strong reasoning ability and negotiation/influencing skills across various stakeholder groups;
  • Ability to think critically, analytically, and strategically;
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills with report writing and presentation experience;
  • Relevant tertiary degree or diploma in Law, Commerce, or Business; and
  • Significant experience working with retail financial services products in Product, Line 1 risk, Audit, or Compliance.
