Job Description

Fitzroy is a leader in the metallurgical coal mining industry with a portfolio of existing operations and a pipeline of growth projects. In our short history, we have successfully reinvigorated operations at underground mines, breathed new life into open cut sites, and opened new underground longwall pits.

We are seeking a skilled Technology Strategy Leader to oversee and manage our Information Technology environment and systems. This role involves a hands-on approach including oversight of our corporate IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations, system security, and alignment with business goals.

  • Oversight of the whole IT environment across the organization.
  • Ensure the seamless operation, integration, and alignment of all systems with business needs. This includes maintaining hardware, software, networks, and cloud services to support daily operations and long-term strategic objectives.
  • Provide leadership in the relationship with our external IT service provider.
  • Deliver high-quality infrastructure maintenance, helpdesk services, and user support. This includes setting service level expectations, monitoring performance, and addressing issues promptly to maintain a reliable and responsive IT function.
  • Coordinate communication systems and IT environments in collaboration with key personnel across all sites, fostering consistency, efficiency, and alignment with organizational priorities. Act as a central point of contact to ensure technology supports effective internal collaboration and external communication.
  • Evaluate opportunities to enhance IT systems and processes, working closely with stakeholders to understand business objectives and implementing improvements that drive efficiency, innovation, and scalability. This includes evaluating emerging technologies, recommending system upgrades, and leading change initiatives to future-proof the IT environment.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent communication skills, and experience in leading IT teams. They will be responsible for developing and implementing technology strategies that align with business goals, managing IT budgets, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
