Job Summary

In this critical position, you will be responsible for assessing and mitigating the impacts of underground mining operations on ground movement, ensuring the safety of communities, infrastructure, and the environment while meeting regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed mine subsidence risk assessments and develop predictive models to inform decision-making.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on ground movement and associated infrastructure impacts to stakeholders.
  • Provide technical advice on remediation, prevention, and mitigation measures to minimize subsidence risks.
  • Collaborate with developers, engineers, regulators, and community stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Prepare expert technical reports for internal and external stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Geotechnical, Mining or Civil Engineering is essential.
  • Significant experience in mine subsidence engineering, remediation / mine filling design, and geotechnical assessment is required.
  • Proven track record in subsidence modeling and interpretation, structural impact assessment, and monitoring techniques is necessary.
  • Excellent technical reporting and communication skills are crucial for success in this role.
  • Familiarity with Subsidence Advisory NSW practices is desirable.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or equivalent registration is an advantage but not essential.
