About the Role

As a key member of the Material Support and Logistics function within Civil Helicopters at Airbus, this position plays a pivotal role in enhancing customer satisfaction by streamlining front office processes.

The Procurement Specialist for Aeronautical Materials will be responsible for coordinating and improving purchasing activities, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality materials. Key responsibilities include:

  • Raising purchase orders for all aeronautical material requirements, including stock collection, maintenance, repairs, and customization.
  • Managing core returns to suppliers and providing timely feedback on issues or blockages.
  • Ensuring that all material is purchased on time, within budget, and meets quality standards.
  • Actioning and administering aircraft on ground (AOG) and warranties with vendors.
  • Reviewing open orders and expediting vendor deliveries according to quoted lead times.
  • Liaising with sub-contractors and suppliers for customized materials and services.
  • Managing KANBAN items and non-conformities with suppliers.

Freight Management

  • Coding freight invoices and purchase cost variations to inventory and jobs.
  • Reviewing and allocating deferred customs payment statements and temporary imports.
  • Providing freight quotes to MRO and new aircraft sales teams.
  • Liaising with freight forwarders and updating aircraft delivery managers on new aircraft deliveries.

This position requires:

  • In-depth knowledge of Supply Chain principles, including inventory and materials management.
  • A high level of purchasing expertise to support procurement activities in Australia and/or New Zealand.
  • Broad knowledge of applicable legislation, regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Proven purchasing experience and knowledge of end-to-end supply chain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Understanding of purchasing cost drivers and strategies to ensure cost-effectiveness.

Estimated Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
