Child and Youth Therapist Role

This position focuses on delivering high-quality therapeutic services to children and young people affected by family violence.

  • Develop and maintain individualised counselling plans to meet the needs of clients.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to duty of care principles at all times.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support for children and families.
  • Conduct regular progress reviews and make adjustments as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.

The role will support children aged 6–18 years from separated or separating families impacted by family violence. Our primary approach is Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), with full training provided.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver trauma-informed interventions tailored to each client's unique needs.
  • Support the mental health and well-being of children, young people, and families affected by separation and family violence.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, their families, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive response to client needs.

This position requires a commitment to child safety, family-centred practice, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to manage complex needs and respond to critical incidents with professionalism and care.
