Overview

Volunteer Role: Taskforce Program Facilitator – Youth Parliament

Make a difference. Empower young voices. Shape the future.

At The Y Canberra Region, we empower young people through civic education and leadership opportunities. As a Volunteer Taskforce Program Facilitator, you'll support the Youth Parliament Program, helping develop leadership, collaboration, and civic understanding in young Australians.

This is ideal for someone with strong communication and interpersonal skills and a passion for developing young leaders.

Responsibilities
  • Support program delivery, design, and management
  • Assist with research, development, evaluation, and governance
  • Lead participant engagement through workshops, mentoring, and communications
  • Coordinate events such as training weekends, launch events, and sitting week
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to participants
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment
Time Commitment
  • 1–2 days per fortnight during the program
  • Mandatory attendance at:
    • Youth Parliament Sitting Week (5 days)
    • Participant Training Weekends
    • Program Launch Event
