Incident Management Role Overview

The Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) is seeking an experienced Program Officer - Incident Management Specialist to join their team.

About the Role

This challenging role involves providing high-level administrative and project support to ensure business objectives are achieved in relation to incident management training, logistics, and readiness. The successful candidate will work closely with key stakeholders to develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems to enhance service delivery and operational capability.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary package of $102,000 - $112,000 per annum, plus a range of benefits including access to professional development opportunities and a supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced administrative support to incident management teams, including document management, filing, and financial administration.
  • Assist in the delivery of training programs, including review, development, and implementation of systems to support operational readiness and capacity.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and liaison.
  • Contribute to the assessment of incident management capability readiness products and provide recommendations for quality decision-making.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent qualification.
  • High level understanding of Australasian Inter-Service Incident Management System (AIIMS) principles and QFES operational concepts.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience working in an operational coordination centre, as well as knowledge of QLD Disaster Management arrangements.
  • Ability to obtain Level 1 Procurement Queensland Government purchasing qualification.
