Position Overview

Central Adelaide Local Health Network - Royal Adelaide Hospital

Salary: MDP-2 $89,253 - $144,291 p.a.

Employment Type: Full-time temporary

Training Duration: 12 months

Contract Term: 3 Years in accordance with the Salaried Medical Officers Enterprise Agreement

Placement Support: Upon completion of the training program, CALHN will assist in securing a suitable position within SA Health for the remaining contract duration.

Role Responsibilities

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will take on the supervised clinical management of patients under the guidance of the Clinical Pharmacology team. Your involvement in the Multidisciplinary Ambulatory Consulting Service will focus on the assessment and treatment of patients with complex medical conditions. You will gradually assume clinical responsibilities, providing essential support to both patients and their families.

Your role will also encompass educational responsibilities, mentoring medical students, pharmacists, and other clinical personnel. Additionally, you will participate in medication governance, contributing to various committees such as the Central Adelaide Drug Committee and the South Australian Formulary Committee. Engaging in clinical research will be a vital aspect of your position, as it is integral to the field of Clinical Pharmacology.

Qualifications and Skills

Successful candidates will have completed the Royal Australasian Fellowship (FRACP) exam, both written and clinical, and must be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Medical Practitioner. A demonstrated proficiency in clinical pharmacology, coupled with a commitment to quality improvement and safe practice, is essential. You should be adaptable to change and open to constructive feedback, thriving in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.
