Job Opportunity: Clinical Pharmacology Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacology Specialist to join our team at the Government of South Australia. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will assume the supervised, clinical management of patients under the direct care of the Clinical Pharmacology team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assume clinical responsibility under gradually diminishing supervision
  • Contribute to the management of patients and provide appropriate and timely emotional support to families of patients
  • Undertake assessment and treatment of patients
  • Be involved in a number of educational roles for medical students, pharmacists, and other clinical staff
  • Contribute to medication governance, including the Central Adelaide Drug committee, the South Australian Formulary Committee, and the Investigational Drug Subcommittee
  • Be involved in clinical research

Requirements

  • Successful completion of the Royal Australasian Fellowship (FRACP) exam, both written and clinical
  • Registrable with the Medical Board of Australia and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Medical Practitioner
  • Demonstrated competence in clinical pharmacology
  • High level of personal and professional integrity and commitment to quality improvement and safe practice
  • Adaptable to change and willing to accept constructive feedback on performance from senior staff
