Training Program Duration: 12 months

Contract Term: 3 Years in accordance with the Salaried Medical Officers Enterprise Agreement

Post-Training Placement: CALHN will assist in securing a suitable position within SA Health following the training program.

Role Overview:

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will engage in the supervised clinical management of patients under the Clinical Pharmacology team's guidance. Your involvement in the Multidisciplinary Ambulatory Consulting Service will focus on managing patients with complex medical conditions. You will play a significant role in assessing and treating patients, gradually taking on clinical responsibilities while providing essential emotional support to their families.

Your role will also encompass educational responsibilities for medical students, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals. You will contribute to medication governance through participation in various committees, including the Central Adelaide Drug Committee and the South Australian Formulary Committee. Additionally, involvement in clinical research is a core aspect of Clinical Pharmacology. Qualifications:

Successful completion of the Royal Australasian Fellowship (FRACP) exam is required, along with registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. You should demonstrate proficiency in clinical pharmacology, possess a high level of integrity, and show a commitment to quality improvement and safe practices. Adaptability to change and receptiveness to constructive feedback from senior staff are essential, as is the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
