About the Role

We are seeking a visionary leader to drive strategic initiatives, work collaboratively with the board to shape FAR Australia's future, and inspire teams to achieve great results.

This leadership role presents a chance to shape the organisation's strategic direction, cultivate productive relationships with stakeholders, and deliver high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive business growth by developing and implementing strategic plans, managing budgets, and overseeing projects.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement by building relationships with grower organisations, Research & Development Corporations, government agencies, and agribusiness.
  • Cultivate innovation and strategic thinking within the organisation to drive positive change and results.
  • Work with the Board to ensure long-term sustainability and success.
Requirements
  • A broad understanding of the agricultural sector, especially in applied RD&E and agribusiness.
  • Strong business acumen, people management skills, and commercial mindset.
  • Experience in budgeting, procurement, project portfolio oversight, and organisational growth.
  • Demonstrated continuous learning in your career, both formal and informal.
  • Strategic vision to develop 2027–2032 strategic plan with the Board.

What You'll Need to Apply
  • A current Australian driver's licence.
  • A right to work in Australia.
  • At least 5 years' experience as a chief executive officer.
  • At least 10 years' people management experience.
  • At least 10 years' business management experience.
  • Ability to give at least 6 weeks' notice to your current employer.

You can earn up to $250,000 per year as a Chief Executive Officer.
