About the Role

The Infection Prevention and Control Officer plays a vital role in maintaining a safe healthcare environment. Key responsibilities include developing, implementing, and monitoring work practice standards and policies.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate infection prevention and control programs across multiple sites
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives, reviewing policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines related to infection control
  • Develop, manage, and evaluate comprehensive infection prevention and control systems, including related programs and services
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal guidelines for infection prevention and control

Key Requirements:

  • Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Relevant experience in clinical or infection prevention and control
  • Desirable qualifications: ACIPC credentialing, Post Graduate certificate or diploma in infection control, Accredited Nurse Immuniser, Accredited HIV, HBV & HCV pre and post-test counsellor, Accredited Hand Hygiene Auditor
