About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist/Data Analyst to join our team at Ventia Pty Limited. As an Environmental Scientist/Data Analyst, you will play a key role in the delivery of environmental monitoring projects, working closely with our Data Manager to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety: Support the health and safety of employees and self through education, training, and demonstration of the right behaviours.
  • Business Operations: Ensure safe and efficient operation of the business through proactive management of procedures and processes.
  • Data Management: Collect, manage, and report environmental data collected from field teams, and deliver the final product to clients.
  • Reporting: Create and track reports, and assist in preparing reports and providing feedback on future data requirements.
  • GIS and Data Analysis: Generate site maps and plans using GIS software, and assist in loading data and extracting data from systems.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure data processing and QA is carried out on data generated or supplied by regional offices.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: A qualification in Environmental Science, Hydrography, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, or a similar field is preferred.
  • Experience: In-field environmental monitoring experience is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong time management, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with excellent computer and aptitude for learning new software packages.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills and ability to present and summarise data.
  • Technical Skills: High level MS Excel user, experience using environmental databases ESdat and Hydstra, and experience in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Power Apps, Power automate, batch file programming, MySQL, Python, VBA, or Perl programming skills.
