About the Role
The City of Whittlesea is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Sustainability Specialist to lead our sustainability education programs. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in educating, empowering, and enabling our community to be sustainable, healthy, and resilient in a changing climate.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sustainability education programs for schools and households to increase energy efficiency and reduce energy bills and emissions.
- Work with stakeholders to promote sustainable living practices and behavior change.
- Collaborate with internal teams to integrate sustainability into our organizational operations and policies.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform sustainability initiatives and programs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community groups, organizations, and stakeholders to advance sustainability goals.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of household electrification, climate adaptation, and behavior change.
- Demonstrable skills in continuous improvement and project management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including community groups, organizations, and internal teams.
- Passion for sustainable living and commitment to advancing sustainability goals.
