About the Role

The City of Whittlesea is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Sustainability Specialist to lead our sustainability education programs. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in educating, empowering, and enabling our community to be sustainable, healthy, and resilient in a changing climate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sustainability education programs for schools and households to increase energy efficiency and reduce energy bills and emissions.
  • Work with stakeholders to promote sustainable living practices and behavior change.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to integrate sustainability into our organizational operations and policies.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform sustainability initiatives and programs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community groups, organizations, and stakeholders to advance sustainability goals.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of household electrification, climate adaptation, and behavior change.
  • Demonstrable skills in continuous improvement and project management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including community groups, organizations, and internal teams.
  • Passion for sustainable living and commitment to advancing sustainability goals.
