Job Title: Leading Hand – Living Streams
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Leading Hand for Living Streams. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing and guiding the enhancement and maintenance of our living streams, ensuring safe and sustainable practices, and providing leadership within our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prioritize, and manage activities of the team to meet program needs.
- Efficiently plan, execute, and inspect daily tasks while operating machinery.
- Coordinate tasks effectively, ensuring work activities are promptly addressed.
- Assist with the implementation of current living streams environmental management plans and programs.
- Assist in developing and implementing monitoring programs for water quality, vegetation condition, and weed mapping/identification.
- Provide comment on detailed environmental designs.
- Receive, investigate, and respond to community enquiries on living streams and natural areas matters, providing both technical and administrative advice.
Requirements:
- Certificate IV in Conservation and Land Management or relevant equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of land management principles and practices, including maintenance, conservation, revegetation, and regeneration in riverine, wetland, riparian, and natural environments.
- Strong knowledge of Water Sensitive Urban Design principles.
- Native vegetation identification and familiarization.
- Natural vegetation regeneration/revegetation, particularly in riverine/wetland areas.
- Problem-solving/project management.
