As an HR Expert in Employee Relations, you will play a pivotal role in the newly established People Services team at Tandem Partners.

This fixed-term position has opened up to cover for a consultant on maternity leave for the next 6 months. Reporting to the Manager of Workplace Relations & Governance, you'll be responsible for managing end-to-end employee relations (ER) cases and partnering with managers to navigate complex performance matters and support employee development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a trusted expert on all things ER—handling performance management, terminations, promotions, and generalist HR matters.
  • Makes sense of employment law, enterprise agreements, and organisational policies, providing clarity and direction to managers and employees.
  • Partners with the Wellbeing team to support return-to-work initiatives and other employee wellness programs.
  • Is the go-to for inquiries on flexible work arrangements, EBA interpretations, and key policies.
  • Helps develop employee-friendly policies, templates, and intranet content to ensure staff have the tools they need to thrive.
Requirements:
  • Solid HR generalist experience with a strength and passion for employee relations.
  • Previous experience working within the P&C function within a unionized environment.
  • A collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills to build trust with managers and employees alike.
  • Government or public sector experience preferred, though all sectors with strong ER focus are welcomed.
  • Ideally available to start immediately.

The salary range for this position is $120,000-$128,000 per annum, reflecting the importance of your role in supporting the growth and success of our organisation.
