We are seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Lived Experience Practitioners. In this rewarding role, you will build strong relationships with consumers of the Local service.
About the RoleAs a Lived Experience Practitioner, you will empower consumers who have a lived childhood experience or caring for a child who has mental ill health, developmental disability or challenges with emotional regulation and support their wellness journey through non-clinical community based supports.
- Establish a relationship of mutuality and information sharing that promotes choices, self-determination and opportunities for collaborative learning
- Meaningly share your lived experience with consumers and staff, offering encouragement and support to improve consumers' overall mental health and wellbeing; and a peer perspective
- Contribute to program content and activities which support the wellbeing of infant, children and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage and support consumers from a mutual perspective through sharing lived experience;
- Develop a trusting and professional relationship;
- Participate and contribute to collaborative research and evaluation;
- Maintain a current and valid Victorian Working with Children's Check;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook;

If You're Interested...
- A lived childhood experience of mental ill health, developmental disability or utilisation of multidisciplinary healthcare and family supports;
- A lived experience of caring for a child who has mental ill health, developmental disability or challenges with emotional regulation;
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills;
- Commitment to consumer participation at an individual and group level;
- Experience in communication, collaboration, and representation with diverse individuals and groups;
- Ability to participate and contribute to collaborative research and evaluation;
- A current and valid Victorian Working with Children's Check;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook;
- Training in Intentional Peer Support or equivalent (applicable to Level 3);
- A minimum of two years experience working as a Lived Experience Worker or Peer Worker in a Health or Social Service (applicable to Level 3).
