The Opportunity

This role offers a unique chance to make a positive impact on students' career development. As a Careers Adviser, you will be responsible for delivering professional guidance services that cater to the diverse needs of students and the wider community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-on-one appointments to support students in making informed decisions about their academic and career pathways;
  • Develop and deliver workshops, events, and online resources that enhance career development learning and employability;
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote career opportunities and industry engagement;
  • Collaborate with student groups and societies to create relevant and diverse professional development initiatives;
  • Contribute to a positive workplace culture that supports wellbeing and success for all.

About You

We are seeking a confident communicator and skilled careers practitioner who is passionate about empowering students to achieve their full potential. Your interpersonal strengths will enable you to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds and work effectively within a collaborative team environment.

Requirements:

  • A relevant degree and/or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience providing career guidance;
  • Demonstrated ability to apply Career Development Learning principles in individual guidance, resource development, and workshop delivery;
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of labour market insights;
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams using a case-managed approach to support student wellbeing and success;
  • A high level of administration skills with the ability to adapt quickly to new systems;
  • Eligibility for or progress towards a CICA-endorsed qualification or professional association membership.
