Job Overview

This role involves providing high-level administrative support, managing the day-to-day activities of a Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC), and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of research ethics principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and organisational skills.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Triage enquiries from researchers and other stakeholders, responding to straightforward queries and escalating complex issues where necessary
  • Coordinate meetings, events, training sessions, and functions for the HREC, including arranging venues, catering, agendas, and materials
  • Provide administrative support for the Ethics Secretariat and Human Research Ethics Manager, including processing invoices and payments
  • Monitor and review approved ethics applications to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Assist with the preparation of reports to relevant authorities

About You

We are seeking a highly organised and motivated individual with a strong commitment to supporting the research community.

You will have a tertiary qualification in a related field, or equivalent experience, and be familiar with best practice in research ethics.

Absolutely essential is your ability to provide exceptional customer service, work efficiently under tight deadlines, and demonstrate a strong understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes.
