The Tax Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate tax compliance and planning for the organization. This individual will oversee corporate income, payroll, and sales/use tax compliance while supporting audits, tax strategy, and research initiatives.
This role requires strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to provide value-added recommendations to enhance overall tax efficiency.
The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations as well as excellent analytical, research, and critical thinking skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for explaining complex tax concepts clearly.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee corporate tax compliance processes in coordination with third-party providers.
- Prepare and file sales and use tax returns (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
- Manage income, sales/use, and property tax audits, including communication with external auditors.
- Respond to and manage inquiries and notices from tax authorities.
- Assist with quarterly and annual tax provisions, including estimated tax calculations.
- Research complex tax issues and provide recommendations on current and emerging tax legislation.
- Identify opportunities to optimize tax credits, incentives, and deductions.
- Review and evaluate accounting procedures for compliance, accuracy, and process improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation (Master's preferred).
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
- Minimum of 5 years of tax experience, preferably in public accounting or a corporate tax department.
- Excellent analytical, research, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly.
- Mid-Senior level position with opportunities for growth and professional development.
