Project Manager - NBN

The Opportunity

We are seeking a driven leader to oversee the forecasting, planning, management, and reporting of our High-Impact NBN Project in Canberra.

About You
  • A Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience working on NBN projects is essential.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a solid understanding of project delivery are necessary.
  • Solid knowledge of cost management and financial principles is required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in commercial management is an advantage.
Key Accountabilities
  1. Lead and mentor Engineers to promote a culture of safety, accountability, excellence, and improvement.
  2. Plan and forecast construction activities with the Area Supervisor; maintain project plans and schedules.
  3. Manage and reconcile Bill of Quantities (BOQs); support final contract sum reconciliation.
  4. Collaborate on and revise project schedules, including subcontractor inputs, for client approval.
  5. Ensure timely approval of traffic management plans and access notices.
  6. Review and raise construction variations; align BOQs, Construction Work Packages (CWPs), and reports.
  7. Ensure timely delivery of completion documents; track Critical Action Requests (CARs), defects, and field issue trends.
  8. Manage construction changes; participate in Lessons Learnt and Innovation workshops.
  9. Coordinate BOQ stock ordering to meet schedules.
  10. Assess variation impacts on cost/schedule; submit to Contract Administrator.
  11. Partner with Finance and Construction Managers to prepare monthly forecasts with risk/contingency.
  12. Review Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and lead indicators; propose improvement strategies.
