Job Title: Construction Project Leader

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Leader to join our team in Canberra. As a key member of our high-impact team, you will lead multi-disciplinary trade crews on a major NBN upgrade project.

This hands-on role focuses on site-based supervision, ensuring safety, compliance, and quality across all civil and cable hauling activities. You will authorise excavation works, monitor progress, and ensure smooth, safe operations throughout the project lifecycle.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate site walkouts, planning, and scoping: Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive project plans, including site walkouts, planning, and scoping.
  • Lead subcontractors in executing approved site works: Effectively manage and motivate subcontractors to deliver high-quality results while adhering to strict timelines and budget constraints.
  • Maintain plant, equipment, and vehicles per corporate safety standards: Implement and enforce rigorous safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a healthy working environment.
  • Engage with clients and community stakeholders: Foster strong relationships with clients, local communities, and other stakeholders through effective communication and issue resolution.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Trade qualification or equivalent industry experience: Possess relevant trade qualifications or significant experience in construction projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in site supervision and effective subcontractor management: Proven track record of successfully managing sites and leading subcontractors.
  • Prior experience in NBN or telecommunications projects is essential: Strong background in delivering NBN or telecommunications projects, preferably in a leadership capacity.
