Rehabilitation Counsellor Job Description

Our team is seeking a passionate and dedicated Rehabilitation Counsellor to provide assessment, testing and interventions for job seekers with psychosocial and mental health barriers to employment.

This role involves providing vocational assessments and recovery support, conducting case management for return to work, and assessing the effects of mental health and medical conditions on ability to work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Initial assessment, psychometric testing and brief interventions for job seekers with psychosocial and mental health barriers to obtaining or sustaining employment
  • New employment vocational assessments, transferable skills analysis and recovery support
  • Initial assessments with injured workers and case management for return to same employment
  • Psychological functional capacities assessments and reporting
  • Assessing the effects of mental health and medical conditions on ability to work
  • Detailed case notes and reports writing
  • Supporting veterans with psychosocial, medical and return-to-work goals
  • Opportunity to provide Adjustment to Injury counselling and Vocational Counselling in-person and via phone
  • Working with adult clients from diverse backgrounds

Requirements:
  • Hold a degree in Masters in Rehabilitation Counselling
  • Be eligible for ASORC or RCAA accreditation upon graduating
  • Have graduated in the last 12 months or be graduating in 2025
  • Agree to a pre-employment national criminal check prior to employment
  • Have full Australian working rights
  • Hold a full driver's license, own vehicle and comprehensive insurance
