Legal Adviser, Litigation and Dispute Resolution
About the RoleThe role of Legal Adviser, Litigation and Dispute Resolution involves providing strategic and legal support to Comcare. This includes overseeing the management of legal risks associated with Comcare's claims litigation portfolio, instructing on Federal Court litigation, and managing scheme risks.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the Senior Legal Adviser in performing their role to support the strategic delivery of litigation and dispute resolution services to Comcare.
- Resolve problems and manage risk effectively.
- Manage workload in a manner consistent with the APS Values and Code of Conduct, and internal procedures.
Mandatory qualifications include admission as a legal practitioner of the High Court or the Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory, and a current practicing certificate. Experience in Tribunal and Court procedures, or providing advice and/or running litigation matters in a workers' compensation scheme environment will be highly regarded.
Eligibility and Specific Conditions of Employment- Character clearance (Australian Criminal History Check).
- Employee Health Declaration.
- Six months probationary period for new engagements.
