Aboriginal Engagement Officer: A Role in Building Community Partnerships

About the Role:

The successful candidate will engage with Aboriginal communities and organisations, promoting awareness and understanding of electoral services. They will assist in delivering culturally appropriate services for Aboriginal people across South Australia.

  • Building key partnerships with state and federal agencies, community-based organisations, and other local stakeholders.
  • Planning and coordinating outreach activities to promote awareness and understanding of enrolment and voting services.
  • Determining effective methods for communication and information distribution within community.
  • Providing advice on culturally appropriate ways to deliver electoral services.
  • Supporting and training community members, organisations and service providers in electoral enrolment and voting services.

To succeed in this role, applicants must demonstrate experience in engaging with Aboriginal communities, along with strong organisational and project coordination skills that ensure timely delivery of outcomes.

Key Requirements:
  • Culturally sensitive liaison and consultation skills.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Ability to travel to regional and remote areas of South Australia.
  • Current driver's licence.
