Community Liaison Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Community Liaison Specialist to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Visit clients in mental health and state-run disability services to ensure they have adequate information about their treatment, care, and rights.
- Support clients to achieve positive outcomes and identify areas for service follow-up and improvement.
- Engage with staff to understand opportunities and challenges that may impact clients.
- Advocate on behalf of clients with consent and refer issues to the relevant teams if necessary.
- Provide a post-visit report to promote service improvement.
You will work independently and in pairs to visit and inspect services. Drawing upon your professional experience and skills, you will guide your work and deliver on statutory requirements.
Visits typically take place during business hours. Our volunteers often work or study part-time and/or have retired or are not working full-time. We recommend allowing four hours per visit, including travelling time and time to write the report.
We expect each Community Liaison Specialist to carry out a minimum of two visits per month. The appointment period is three years, with opportunities available in metropolitan Adelaide, Berri, Mt Gambier, and Whyalla areas.
