Job Details: Field Hydrologist

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Field Hydrologist to join our team. As a key member of our hydrology group, you will be responsible for conducting field studies and monitoring programs to collect and analyze data on groundwater and surface water quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine integrated monitoring programs including groundwater, surface water, soils and air quality sampling while adhering to industry best practices.
  • Perform field studies involving hydrogeological site investigations, drilling programs, monitoring bore installations, and hydraulic testing.
  • Prepare high-quality factual reports based on field and laboratory data collected for clients.
  • Develop and implement Health and Safety documentation for field work.
  • Liaise with site personnel, suppliers, and laboratory staff to ensure smooth delivery of field projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A degree in Science or Engineering specializing in Hydrogeology or a related field is essential.
  • Practical experience in hydrogeology with skills in groundwater monitoring and sampling, data analysis, bore drilling and construction, and report writing would be advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of Queensland groundwater legislation and policies, standards, and guidelines is highly desirable.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in groundwater data analysis and interpretation would be beneficial.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and remotely for project work.
  • Manual driver's license and 4WD experience is highly desirable.
  • Mine site inductions (standard 11) or other relevant certifications are ideal.
  • Australian citizenship/working rights are essential.
