Junior Hydrogeologist

The role of a Junior Hydrogeologist involves assisting with data collection, baseline studies, and data analysis as part of the Hydrology & Hydrogeology technical discipline. This position requires collaboration with senior staff to develop strong skillsets and have an impact on clients through studies investigating groundwater and surface water management, ecological values, and infrastructure engineering across multiple industries.


About the Role
  • Conduct integrated monitoring programs including groundwater, surface water, soils, and air quality sampling following procedures and industry best practice.
  • Perform field studies such as hydrogeological site investigations, drilling programs, monitoring bore installations, and hydraulic testing.
  • Assess data and trends to provide assessments of data integrity, trends, and mechanisms related to water movement within surface water and groundwater systems.
  • Maintain and utilize automated telemetry data capture tools.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree or higher in Science or Engineering, specializing in Hydrogeology or a related field.
  • Practical experience in water management with demonstrated skills in groundwater monitoring and sampling data analysis, geological or geotechnical logging, groundwater bore drilling and construction, data analysis, and report writing.
  • Working knowledge of QLD groundwater legislation and policies is highly desirable.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in groundwater data analysis and interpretation would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.

Requirements
  • Australian citizenship/working rights are essential.
  • Manual driver's license and previous 4WD experience and training is highly desirable.
