Job Opportunity

As a Junior Hydrogeologist, you will play a key role in advancing our understanding of groundwater systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine integrated monitoring programs, including groundwater, surface water, soils, and air quality sampling, adhering to industry best practices.
  • Perform field studies, such as hydrogeological site investigations, drilling programs, monitoring bore installations, and hydraulic testing.
  • Participate in training for UAV (drone) surveys provided by SLR.
  • Prepare quality factual reports based on field and laboratory data collected or provided by clients.
  • Develop Health and Safety documentation for field work.
  • Collaborate with site personnel, suppliers, and laboratory personnel to ensure smooth delivery of field work.
Requirements
  1. Either completed a short course in hydrogeology or hold University qualifications (Bachelor Degree or higher) in Science or Engineering, specializing in Hydrogeology or a related field.
  2. Practical experience in the field of hydrogeology, with skills in groundwater monitoring and sampling data analysis, groundwater bore drilling and construction, data analysis, and report writing would be advantageous.
  3. Working knowledge of QLD groundwater legislation and policies, standards, and guidelines is highly desirable.
  4. Theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in groundwater data analysis and interpretation would be beneficial.
  5. Excellent communication and reporting skills are essential.
  6. Ability to travel domestically and remotely to undertake monitoring projects, often up to a week at a time.
  7. Manual driver's license and previous 4WD experience and training are highly desirable.
  8. Mine site inductions (standard 11) or other relevant certifications would be an advantage.
  9. Australian citizenship/working rights are mandatory.
