Hydrogeology Expert

About the Role

This position involves working as a core member of our team to assist with data collection, baseline studies, and data analysis. Our technical teams prioritize safe, high-quality work using cutting-edge tools and senior staff support.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake integrated monitoring programs including groundwater, surface water, soils, and air quality sampling while following industry best practice.
  • Perform field studies involving hydrogeological site investigations, drilling programs, monitoring bore installations, and hydraulic testing.
  • Assess data and trends to provide assessments of data integrity, trends, and mechanisms related to water movement in surface water and groundwater systems.
  • Maintain and utilize automated telemetry data capture tools.
  • Prepare quality factual reports based on field and laboratory data collected for or provided by clients.
  • Be Health and Safety leaders within our business and as representatives of our safety culture while on client operations.
  • Demonstrate great communication skills within project teams and with client representatives, site personnel, suppliers, and laboratory personnel to support smooth field work delivery.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A Bachelor Degree or higher in Science or Engineering specializing in Hydrogeology or a related field.
  • Practical experience in water management with demonstrated skills in groundwater monitoring and sampling data analysis.
  • Working knowledge of QLD groundwater legislation and policies is desirable but not required.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in groundwater data analysis and interpretation are advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • A willingness to travel domestically and remotely to undertake monitoring projects.
  • A manual driver's license and previous 4WD experience are highly desirable.
  • Mine site experience is highly regarded.
