Public Health Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Health Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our public health unit, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality public health services to the Kimberley community.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide expert advice and guidance on public health issues, including the identification and management of communicable and non-communicable diseases. You will work closely with the public health manager and other team members to develop and implement strategies to protect and improve the health of the Kimberley population.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing public health and clinical medical expertise in the identification and management of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
  • Leading the disease control team and guiding strategies to protect and improve the health of the Kimberley population.
  • Collaborating with Aboriginal health staff and community-controlled health organisations to design programs that reflect local priorities.

Required qualifications and skills:

  • Unconditional general and specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine (FAFPHM), or recognised equivalent.
  • Ability to apply for a Medicare Provider Number.
  • Current C Class drivers Licence and an ability and willingness to travel.
