The Production Business Unit

Our Production business unit is responsible for delivering high-quality live performances and events across our five main venues and event spaces, including The State Theatre, The Playhouse, The Fairfax Studio, Hamer Hall, and the iconic Sidney Myer Music Bowl.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Enable the delivery of live performances and events in our venues.
  • Work closely with various departments to ensure successful event execution.
What We Offer

We offer a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in technical production for live events, working alongside our experienced team members. As a Technical Production Trainee, you will be employed for a minimum of 25 hours per week on a variable-time contract, with opportunities to flex up to 38 hours based on your availability.

Salary and Benefits

Trainees will commence on a rate of $25.41 per hour (Band 1.1), increasing to $26.20 per hour (Band 1.2) after the initial probationary period. In addition to competitive hourly rates, employees enjoy a range of benefits, including:

Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you must:

  • Hold excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia
  • Commit to the full traineeship agreement, with a duration of 12 months
  • Not have completed a qualification equal to or above a Certificate III level in any similar technical production qualification
  • Show a willingness to learn and commit to both classroom-based and on-the-job training components
