Lead a Groundbreaking Mental Health Initiative

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Project Officer to lead our innovative Distress Brief Support (DBS) Trial, a 12-month full-time opportunity based in Ipswich.

About the Role

You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating the DBS trial, a community-based mental health initiative focusing on providing compassionate, non-clinical support to individuals in psychological distress.

Working closely with the West Morton PHN, you will use your project management expertise to co-design and deliver a service that addresses the needs of these communities.

You will also collaborate with our Medicare Mental Health team, consisting of Wellbeing Coordinators, Mental Health Clinicians, Intake & Assessment Officers, and Clinical Leads, who are dedicated to enabling community connections and delivering impactful support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the DBS trial, ensuring it meets the needs of the community
  • Collaborate with the West Morton PHN and Medicare Mental Health team to co-design and deliver the service
  • Lead the evaluation of the DBS trial, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes
  • Work closely with community partners to ensure the DBS trial is effective and sustainable
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in health, social sciences, community services, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in managing complex projects, preferably in the mental health or community services sector
  • A track record of working effectively with community and health service providers
  • Commitment to improving the lives of people in distress, particularly from priority groups
