We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Project Officer to lead our innovative Distress Brief Support (DBS) Trial, a 12-month full-time opportunity based in Ipswich.

About the Role

You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating the DBS trial, a community-based mental health initiative focusing on providing compassionate, non-clinical support to individuals in psychological distress.

The DBS trial is a program designed to provide practical solutions for managing distress and connecting participants to longer-term recovery services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of the DBS trial
  • Collaborate with the West Morton PHN to co-design and deliver a service that addresses the needs of the community
  • Work closely with the Medicare Mental Health team to deliver a service that enables community connections and delivers impactful support
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key community partners
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the DBS trial
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in health, social sciences, community services, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in managing complex projects, preferably in the mental health or community services sector
  • Ability to work effectively with community and health service providers
  • Commitment to improving the lives of people in distress, especially from priority groups
