Business Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development and Marketing Advisor to join our growing national team in Sydney or Newcastle. As a key member of our Public Sector Group, you will be responsible for driving business development, marketing, and communication initiatives to support our clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Advise the Sydney and Newcastle Partners in Charge on strategic firm brand promotion, business development, and marketing.
- Work with partners and senior lawyers to develop personal brand and practice development strategies.
- Identify business development opportunities for the Sydney and Newcastle markets.
- Advise and support initiatives for key commercial clients.
- Collaborate with the Bids & Pursuits team on firm and commercial tender submissions.
- Lead a range of opportunistic bids, including proposals and capability statements.
- Manage directory and award submissions.
- Work with the Communications team to identify and action external profiling opportunities.
- Lead business and industry association relationships, including sponsorships.
- Collaborate with the Events team on client, sector, and national firm events.
- 4+ years' experience in a similar marketing and/or business development position, preferably in professional services.
- Demonstrated knowledge working with and marketing to government, ideally to NSW state and/or local government.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with key firm stakeholders and clients.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact at all levels.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
- Team player.
- Proactive and strong problem-solving abilities.
