About the Role

This position is part of a new team preparing for implementation and delivery of a Victorian Government Redress program for people who experienced abuse and neglect in historic institutional settings.

The Counselling and Restorative Engagement team will operationalise and deliver the Victorian Redress model endorsed by Government, including counselling and personal apology functions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing information, referrals, support and advice to people contacting the Victorian Redress program.
  • Delivering trauma-informed support building safety and trust throughout the process.
  • Assessing individuals' needs and vulnerabilities, facilitating access to appropriate services and follow-up as required.

This role requires collaboration with colleagues, support services, government departments and other stakeholders to provide trauma-informed support to participants engaging in restorative engagement processes.
