About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team at Life Without Barriers. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals and live their best lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality support to individuals with disabilities, promoting their independence, dignity, and well-being.
  • Develop and implement personalized support plans, ensuring the unique needs and goals of each individual are met.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver client-centered care, including healthcare professionals, social workers, and other support staff.
  • Assist individuals with daily living tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
  • Encourage and support individuals to participate in community activities, social events, and leisure pursuits.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.

Requirements:

  • Certificate 4 in Disability or equivalent qualification.
  • Current Senior First Aid (level 2) Certificate.
  • Experience supporting individuals with disabilities, preferably in a residential or community setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with individuals, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the changing needs of clients.
