About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team at In Life Independent Living Ltd. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with complex needs to live independently in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, including showering, dressing, and household duties.
  • Support clients to participate in community activities, such as gym, swimming, and art, and promote meaningful engagement.
  • Use manual handling equipment to assist clients with physical disabilities.
  • Work collaboratively with clients, families, and other support staff to develop and implement individualized support plans.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive team culture that values diversity and promotes social inclusion.
Requirements
  • Good judgment and common sense, with excellent listening skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Experience in supporting individuals with physical disabilities and using manual handling equipment.
  • Commitment to regular ongoing shifts, including a minimum of 3 shifts per week.
  • Ability to assess the immediate environment and provide appropriate support to clients.
  • Great patience and a willingness to build rapport with clients.
