About the Role
The Security and Concierge Officer is a key member of the Security team at WorkSafe Victoria, responsible for delivering security support to the organization. The team provides a safe and secure customer-focused work environment for WSV staff and site visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing High-Level Customer Service
- Assessing client needs and responding appropriately within pre-defined parameters
- Ensuring clear communication in challenging situations
- Monitoring Surveillance Equipment
- Ensuring all systems are operating in accordance with relevant procedures
- Responding to incidents using pre-defined procedures
- Ensuring Workplace Incidents are Responded to Appropriately
- Accurately documenting incidents and following up in accordance with standard procedures
- Performing Building Inspections
- Ensuring the security of building perimeters and restricted rooms
- Responding to incidents using pre-defined procedures
- Creating Security Passes
- Ensuring security passes are created in accordance with established procedures
- Making Decisions to Resolve Security Matters
- Resolving concerns, issues, or problems relating to security matters or building facilities within pre-defined guidelines
- Ensuring Issues are Communicated to the Security Manager
- Communicating any issues that may have an impact on the reputation of WSV or adversely affect WSV to the Security Manager immediately
- Creating and Maintaining Records
- Creating and maintaining records in various security-related databases
- Administering First Aid
- Administering first aid to WSV employees within the scope of knowledge and training
- Maintaining Functional Expertise
- Maintaining functional expertise through continual training and participation in emergency management exercises
- Assisting Other Departments
- Assisting other departments as required, including Fleet or Staff Assist with some service delivery or acting as the contact point at established locations
About You
You have proven experience providing security and customer service in a large client-based environment. You have knowledge of alarm systems, access control systems, CCTV, and Fire & Safety procedures, including Fire Indication panels. You are able to develop and maintain effective working relationships, including the ability to work independently and co-operatively as a member of a team with limited supervision.
Additional Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in the use of various security software programs
- Proven ability in responding to security and emergency management incidents in line with established procedures
- Proven experience in communicating and responding to challenging situations
- Strong data entry and written communication skills
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook systems, as well as strong skills in security-related IT systems
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
- Flexibility in undertaking the work role
Qualifications
- Victorian Security Licence
- Certificate II in Security Operations (or equivalent)
- First Aid Certification
