Job Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sterilising Technician to join our team, playing a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of infection control and patient safety.

This key position is responsible for operating and maintaining sterilising equipment and machinery, developing effective sterilising processes, and working collaboratively with theatre teams to prepare instrumentation for surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain sterilising equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Process Development: Develop and implement effective sterilising processes to meet Australian Sterilising Standard (AS/NZS4187).
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with theatre teams to prepare instrumentation for surgical procedures.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements:
  • Certification: Completed Certificate III and IV in Sterilising Services or other relevant qualification.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-4 years clinical experience as an Instrument Technician.
  • Infection Control: Sound understanding and knowledge of infection control requirements.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work flexibly across various shifts.
