Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our kitchen operations, preparing and cooking food, and ensuring the highest standards of food handling and storage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook food in accordance with our menu, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Oversee food plating and garnishing, maintaining artistic presentation and consistency.
  • Implement rosters within a strict budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Plan and estimate food requirements, working closely with management to ensure accurate projections.
  • Estimate food and labour costs, providing recommendations for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Discuss food preparation issues with management, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Train and develop kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Manage cost of sales and labour, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Check the quality of raw and cooked food products, ensuring standards are met and exceeded.
  • Prepare food to meet special dietary requirements, providing exceptional service to our customers.
  • Create and test new recipes, experimenting with flavours and techniques to innovate our menu.
  • Regulate the temperature of stoves and oven, ensuring dishes are cooked at the right levels.
  • Liaise with food suppliers, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of ingredients.
  • Monitor quality of all dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation, ensuring consistency and excellence.
  • Manage and maintain stock efficiently, minimizing waste and maximizing productivity.
  • Work at pace and be flexible with client requests, providing exceptional service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Delegating tasks and resolving issues as they arise, ensuring seamless operation of the kitchen.
  • Check food is stored and handled as per food health and hygiene regulations, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our customers and staff.
Requirements
  • Certificate IV in commercial cookery and Diploma in relevant Hospitality qualification.
  • Prior experience as a Chef minimum 2 years.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking methods and operating kitchen tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work Full Time.
  • Flexible to work on a rotating roster.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
