Chef Position Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at PAN India, South Australia. Our restaurant offers authentic Indian cuisine in a fun and stylish atmosphere. Key Responsibilities:

  • Cooking food for the kitchen and taking responsibility for preparing a variety of dishes.
  • Examine foodstuffs to ensure quality and freshness.
  • Prepare food to meet special dietary requirements and ensure that all dishes are presented to a high standard.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment, adhering to business requirements.
  • Train new kitchen staff and apprentices, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Use resources effectively and efficiently, minimizing waste and optimizing productivity.
  • Plan menus, estimate food requirements, labor costs, and order food supplies, ensuring that all aspects of the kitchen are well-managed.
  • Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Evaluate risks and take appropriate action to minimize their impact.

Requirements:

  • AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery.
  • At least 2 years of work experience in Indian cuisine.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to work well with other team members.
  • Willingness to follow directions and ask questions for clarification when needed.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and handle stress.
  • Able to commit to working beyond normal hours when required.

Annual Salary: AUD 70,000 - 80,000
