About the Role

The Dispute Resolution Officer is a key member of the Claims and Recovery Support Division, responsible for supporting the recovery and return to work of injured workers. This role involves proactively assisting in the management and early resolution of disputes, ensuring positive outcomes are maximised.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with Claims Support Specialists, Team Leaders, and other stakeholders to discuss dispute history and potential resolution outcomes.
  • Obtain relevant claim information and review for timely actioning of requests, effectively communicating regarding timeframes of requests.
  • Engage with workers and their representatives to attempt early resolution of disputes, in line with WorkSafe requirements and key performance indicators.
  • Participate in conciliation conferences to facilitate timely resolution of disputes by meaningfully discussing all relevant issues raised.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory, and governance requirements by staying up-to-date with relevant obligations, case law, and precedents.
  • Review, collect, and report on identified scheme trends and individual cases.
About You

We are seeking an experienced individual who can build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will have extensive experience in workers compensation and personal injury claims management, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You will also have a strong understanding of the Accident Compensation Act 1985 and Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013, and associated Regulations.

You will be able to influence a broad range of individuals, enjoy making an impact, and work in a dynamic and complex environment. You will also have strong engagement, negotiation, conflict resolution, people, and stakeholder management skills.
