Contract Specialist Role

This role encompasses contract management, negotiation, and oversight. As a Contract Specialist, you will play a critical part in ensuring contracts are compliant, strategically aligned, and deliver measurable value.

About the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the effective management of contractual arrangements, from negotiating terms to resolving disputes. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and expertise in contract analysis and risk identification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, negotiate, execute, monitor, renew, and close out contracts
  • Provide expert advice on contract terms and compliance
  • Resolve disputes and non-compliance issues
  • Monitor supplier performance and escalate issues
  • Maintain a centralised contract repository
  • Report on contract status, expiries, renewals, and risks
  • Develop and implement contract frameworks and templates
  • Collaborate with procurement to improve cost and process efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with WHS policies
Requirements
  • 5+ years in contract management or procurement
  • Degree in Supply, Procurement, Business, Commerce, or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of contract management principles
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications like CPCM or CPSM
  • Knowledge of Queensland Government procurement frameworks
  • Experience in government or regulatory environments
  • Background in contract law
