Senior Commercial Manager Role

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Defence Services Line of Business as a Senior Commercial Manager.

This strategic role will involve supporting the client in various contract types, identifying key risks, and developing mitigations in consultation with subject matter experts. The ideal candidate will have high commercial and contractual acumen, capable of managing the full contract and bid/project lifecycle while balancing competing priorities.

The successful candidate will be an Australian citizen, capable of obtaining or holding a valid Defence Security Clearance. Experience with Commonwealth contracts is preferred, although knowledge of the Defence industry and operating environment is not essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a Senior Commercial Manager for the Defence Services Line of Business, reporting to the General Manager.
  • Understand client contracts of various types for complex projects, identify key risks, develop mitigations in consultation with subject matter experts, manage policy non-compliances according to governance processes, draft contracts, and lead client-facing negotiations.
  • Engage and collaborate with Senior Legal Counsel on the Defence Fuels Managing Contractor Contract, including contract extensions, changes, and subcontractor departures.
