Strategic Communications Specialist

This is a key strategic position within the City, driving collaboration across content teams to deliver integrated communications.
The successful candidate will show initiative and evaluate different strategies in action – driving the team to deliver clear, informative and engaging content for our community.
Working closely with senior leaders, executives and councillors, this role ensures alignment across media, social, corporate and emerging platforms.
The Senior Advisor plays a vital role in protecting the City's reputation by delivering effective and accessible communications on Council issues, policies and initiatives.
In a fast-paced environment, you'll provide expert strategic advice and build trusted relationships with stakeholders.
You'll contribute to the delivery of timely, accurate and high-quality communications, working across all Council portfolios.
- Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement communication strategies to promote the City's interests
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive cross-functional projects
- Provide expert advice on communication best practices
Key Qualifications:
- Proven experience in communication strategy development
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
