Job Overview

This position involves developing and implementing a stakeholder engagement program, working closely with the project communications team to manage stakeholder and community issues. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and experience in strategic communications advisory roles.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop project sub-plans and procedures.
  • Assist in identifying and managing stakeholder and community issues.
  • Ensure Project Owner expectations are fully understood and develop good working relationships with counterparts.
  • Plan and manage contact with external stakeholders, the community, and local traders to enhance the reputation of the Alliance and its partner organisations.
  • Participate in site visits as required and ensure visitors have PPE and relevant site inductions.
  • Write a range of high-quality communication materials, including notifications, newsletters, advertising, social media posts, and formal correspondence.
  • Manage responses to all project-related communications via phone, email, website, and social media in line with the agreed Project Owner framework.
  • Assist with preparing presentations to stakeholder and community meetings, including Stakeholder Liaison Group and/or Community/Trader/Schools Reference Groups.
  • Develop project-specific forums for stakeholders and the community (e.g., community forums, pop-up information sessions or online engagement).
Requirements:
  • Tertiary Degree (Bachelor level) or certificate or relevant experience (Disciplines relevant to function area, e.g. public relations, journalism, stakeholder management, marketing).
  • Demonstrated experience in a strategic communications advisory and services role; multi-discipline experience (corporate communications, stakeholder relations, marketing communications); experience in leading project or specialist function activities; relevant experience in major organisations (sector, government or consultancy).
